Joy C. Hollinshead, D.D.S.

Dr. Joy followed her lifelong dream by opening up her new dental office in rural Halstad, Minnesota. She started in Halstad in 1997 and in 2009 she built a brand new state-of-the-art dental office. In 1994, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern Dental School in Chicago. She went on to further her dental experience and went into a residency program at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago. After her residency program, she became one of the residency directors for three years. A chance to move to Minnesota brought her to Halstad, where she calls home. She was the president of the Northwestern District Dental Society from 2002-2003. She was awarded the 2004 New Dentist Leadership Award from the Minnesota Dental Association. She is a Diplomat in the International Orthodontic Association. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and International Orthodontic Dental Association.

Doing business in a small town is very rewarding and full of great people. She feels very blessed to be in such an amazing town full of support and commitment to see her succeed. She has a husband, Jim, and three amazing boys: Gabriel, Michael, and Daniel. They all love the town and living in rural Halstad.

Dr. Joy brought modern technology into Halstad. The office is equipped with a full digital x-ray system and DVD and Cable TV in each room for patient enjoyment. Comfort and patient education are her goals for all patients. She has created a relaxing atmosphere for all ages. Her goal is to promote health in the mouth and in the body. She is committed to bringing all the modern advantages that dentistry has to offer to all her patients.

I started working for Dr. Joy's Dental Clinic in June 2000. I graduated from NDSCS in 2002 with a Certificate in Dental Assisting and in 2005 with an Associate Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene.

It's nice to work in an office that stays up-to-date with technology. I enjoy my relationships with my patients and working with them on not only getting their mouths healthy, but also their whole bodies, in correlation with diabetes, blood pressure, stroke, and heart conditions.

I am married and have two children. I enjoy spending time with my family and scrapbooking.

Karla, R.D.H.

I graduated from Ada-Borup High School in 1993 and North Dakota State College of Science in 1997 with an Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. I am certified in administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. I have had the privilege of practicing with Dr. Joy since 1997. I love being a dental hygienist and all of the many rewards that come with serving patients and helping them achieve total health, including great oral health. I really enjoy the relationships that come with the continued care of patients.

Dr. Joy's Dental Clinic is a very family friendly practice with emphasis on care from age two to ninety-two. We strive to accommodate your families growing needs and work with your schedule to achieve optimal oral health. We have the latest in technologies and staying abreast of the highest standards in patient care. I attend many continuing education courses to stay current in the most recent advances in research. Orthodontics has also been very rewarding as patients see their smiles change.

I have been an active member of the North Dakota Dental Hygienists' Association since graduation. I have held several state offices including secretary, president elect, president, past president, and I am currently Delegate for the American Dental Hygienists' Association. I was awarded NDDHA 2007 Outstanding Dental Hygienist.

In 1977 I graduated from North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. I have worked with Dr. Joy's Dental Clinic for over 10 years.

I enjoy working with our team as a chair side assistant and also helping patients with treatment plans/financial arrangements.

We offer the highest technology and pride ourselves on giving our patients the very best service.

Working with Dr. Joy and staff and moving into our beautiful new office has been so exciting.

It has been very rewarding to be a part of making beautiful, healthy smiles!

My husband Brian and I have two children and a golden retriever, Maui. I love to spend time with my family and friends. We like to travel and downhill snow ski when we can.

I graduated from Moorhead Technical College with my Dental Assisting Degree. I joined Dr. Joy's staff in 2005. It has been a great move for me. I love the high-technology here and the fact that there is always something to strive for.

I graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College with a certification in Transcription. I have worked in scheduling for eight years.

I enjoy working with the patients and being up-to-date with the latest in technological advancements.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, my two dogs, riding my motorcycle, and reading.
